The hospital was established in 1405 AH corresponding to 1984 AD, and it was initially affiliated with the Patients’ Friends Association under the auspices of His Royal Highness, the Governor of the Riyadh region at that time, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The hospital is located in Al-Areija district, southwest of Riyadh, on an area of approximately 196,000 square meters. It consists of the main building of the hospital and the residential complex, in addition to the building of workshops and support services, the hospital tower (new), outpatient clinics, and the diabetes building with a bed capacity of 286 beds.
